Athens Area Habitat for Humanity Athens Area Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1988 on the basic principle that everyone in the Athens community deserved the opportunity to own their own home. In addition to helping Clarke, Oconee, and Oglethorpe residents achieve their dreams of homeownership, Athens Area Habitat is also dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Athens and its surrounding counties.
Athens Area Home Builders Association The Athens Area Home Builders Association, is a not-for-profit trade association representing and uniting the building industry in Clarke, Oconee, Madison, and Oglethorpe counties. They create and promote a favorable climate for quality, affordable construction to assure a positive economic future for the communities they serve.
Athens Area Homeless Shelter The Athens Area Homeless Shelter provides transitional shelter for women and families with a focus on counseling and rebuilding lives & relationships to produce stable, independent individuals and families.
Athens Clarke Heritage Foundation The Athens Clarke Heritage Foundation is a proactive force in developing community-wide understanding of the value of historic buildings, neighborhoods, and heritage.
Athens Grow Green Coalition Athens Grow Green Coalition promotes responsible community development and growth management policies and practices that protect natural resources, prevent sprawl, maintain a healthy economy, and preserve a high quality of life for all in the Athens region.
Athens Housing Authority The Athens Housing Authority ensures the affordable housing needs of low-and-moderate income families with consideration for the long-term goals of the community and families served.
Athens Land Trust The Athens Land Trust (ALT) promotes quality of life through integration of community and the natural environment by preserving land, creating energy-efficient and affordable housing, and revitalizing neighborhoods.
Athens Residential Rental Property Association, Inc. The Athens Residential Rental Property Association (ARRPA) is a local organization of rental owners, managers, and citizens. The purpose of this group is to help develop and promote effective, progressive minded practices by rental owners, tenants, and the wider Athens community. Its goal is to foster awareness that enhances both the quality of life and property values in all the many diverse residential neighborhoods of Athens.
Citizens for Healthy Neighborhoods Citizens for Healthy Neighborhoods (CHN) is a coalition of Athens neighborhoods who joined together to defend themselves from Athens Regional Medical Center's (ARMC' s) master plan.
Historic Boulevard Neighborhood Association The Historic Boulevard Neighborhood Association is comprised of residents of the Boulevard Area and provides a forum for discussion, organization, and action related to community, political and social issues affecting the neighborhood.
Over the River Neighborhood Association The Over the River Neighborhood Association is working to save a five acre tract of land from development. This land will be preserved as a natural park.
People of Hope People of Hope, Inc. plans to build Georgia’s first permanently affordable, resident-controlled mobile home community.
